תוכנית Energy, Climate, and Environment (ECE) של IIASA היא אחת ממוסדות המחקר המדעיים המובילים בתחום ההערכה המשולבת של שינויי אקלים, מערכות אנרגיה ומדיניות אקלים. תוכנית ECE ממלאת תפקיד פעיל בשיתופי פעולה מחקריים בין־לאומיים רחבי היקף, תורמת למספר פרויקטים במסגרת Horizon Europe ומתאמת ביניהם.
חלק מרכזי בתפקיד כולל לא רק הפקת תוצרים מדעיים, אלא גם הנגשתם לקהלי היעד. במסגרת זו, תוכנית ECE מפתחת ומתחזקת את תשתיות הנתונים, מסדי הנתונים וכלי האינטרנט האינטראקטיביים, המאפשרים להנגיש את תוצרי הפרויקטים לחוקרים, לקובעי מדיניות ולציבור הרחב. אחד מהפרויקטים הללו הוא SPARCCLE.

רקע
פרויקט SPARCCLE, הממומן במסגרת Horizon Europe, נועד לפתח את הדור הבא של מסגרות להערכת השפעות שינויי האקלים ולהיערכות אליהם, במטרה לבחון, לכמת ולתמוך בתהליכי שינוי חברתיים בדרך לעתיד עמיד בפני שינויי אקלים. בין תוצרי הפרויקט המרכזיים נמנים ניתוחים מקיפים של פגיעוּת אקלימית רב־ממדית, הערכות הסתברותיות ברזולוציה גבוהה של סיכונים ונזקים, ניתוחים חברתיים־כלכליים המשלבים השפעות בין־מגזריות והשפעות עקיפות (spillover effects), וכן נתונים ותחזיות חברתיים־כלכליים ברמת פירוט גבוהה.
אחד מתוצרי ההפצה המרכזיים של SPARCCLE יהיה ממשק נתונים מקוון – SPARCCLE-Explorer and EU Scoreboard – שייבנה על בסיס PROVIDE Climate Risk Dashboard הקיים. כלי זה ישלב הדמיות אינטראקטיביות, לוחות מחוונים ואינפוגרפיקה להצגת נתוני תרחישי אקלים, השפעות ונתונים חברתיים־כלכליים, הן מרחביים והן שאינם מרחביים. הכלי מיועד למגוון רחב של משתמשים, ובהם חוקרים, קובעי מדיניות, אנשי מקצוע בתחום ההסתגלות לשינויי אקלים וגורמים מהמגזר הפרטי. פיתוחו ייעשה בשיתוף בעלי עניין מרכזיים, והוא נועד לשמש כתשתית בת־קיימא ורב־פרויקטלית להפצת נתוני אקלים ב-IIASA.
המועמד/ת שייבחר/תיבחר יצטרף/תצטרף לצוות האחראי על ניהול הנתונים ותהליכי בקרת האיכות התומכים בפיתוחו של כלי זה, ויעבוד/תעבוד בנקודת הממשק שבין נתוני המחקר, תשתיות מסדי הנתונים וצוות פיתוח הווב.

The IIASA Energy, Climate, and Environment (ECE) Program is one of the leading scientific research institutions in the domain of integrated assessment of climate change, energy systems and climate policy. ECE plays an active role in large-scale international research collaborations, contributing to and coordinating multiple Horizon Europe projects. A core part of this work involves not only producing scientific results but also making them accessible: ECE develops and maintains the data infrastructure, databases and interactive web tools that allow project outputs to reach researchers, policy makers and the wider public. One such project is SPARCCLE.

Background
SPARCCLE, funded by Horizon Europe, aims to deliver the next generation of climate impacts and adaptation frameworks to explore, quantify and inform societal transformations towards climate resilient futures. Key outputs of the project include comprehensive analyses of multidimensional climate vulnerabilities, high-resolution probabilistic hazards and damages, socioeconomic analyses incorporating cross-sector and spillover effects, and granular socio-economic data and projections.
A central dissemination output of SPARCCLE will be an online data interface - the SPARCCLE-Explorer and EU Scoreboard - building on the existing PROVIDE Climate Risk Dashboard. This tool will combine interactive visualizations, dashboards and infographics for spatial and non-spatial climate scenario, impact and socioeconomic data, targeting audiences ranging from scientists and policy makers to adaptation practitioners and private sector actors. The new tool will be co-developed with key stakeholders and is intended as a sustainable, multi-project infrastructure for climate data dissemination at IIASA.
The successful candidate will join the team responsible for the data management and quality control workflows underpinning this new tool, working at the interface between research data, database infrastructure and the web development team.
